Hebrews 10:25 Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near (TLB).
First, let’s get something clear. The word “church”, when you read this in the bible, is not talking about a building. The “church” is a body, a group of believers. The disciples were a body of believers, followers of Jesus Christ. Our scriptures encourage us to come together; to support and encourage one another.
You need to know even though this world changes, the culture, what’s expected, what’s not expected, God never changes. The scriptures record in Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not…… As God was in the days of old, he’s the same today. How can we know that? By faith. Jesus tells us in John: 4:24 , God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. To worship him we must believe that he is. And that he is a rewarder of those that seek him.
You need to assemble yourself together with other believers. You will not reach your full height in God without the support and encouragement of other believers. I can’t touch you through the television. Something happens when we put our arms around others, touching each other with God’s kind of love. There is a caring that is conveyed. There is the feeling you are not alone. There is the working of the Holy Spirit as our spirit unites in one accord giving praise to the glory of God. You need to come together, to encourage and lift up one another.
PRAYER: Holy Father help us see you. This world has changed so much; that many believers think they can sit home alone and worship you and that’s enough. Lord help us allow your Holy Spirit, to penetrate our hearts so we see the truth. Lord help us live wholly for you so others see you in us and desire to follow you. This is your servant’s prayer. Amen
