A WORLD IN CRISIS
Aug and Sept 2011 RAM
We wrestle with living in a world mixed with conflict of
choices. What's right. What's wrong,. What to do.
What not to do.
A world where tolerances has over taken acceptance,
such that many don't know the difference.
A world where churches no longer welcome God
in their midst.
A world where many have turned their back on the
things of God.
A world where the ďTens CommandmentsĒ and the
ďCrossĒ have been designated as obsolete. They are
no longer welcome in our public buildings and
I conclude our world is in crisis. Yet, I know the God
who made the heavens and the earth is alive and
still in control. The Bible tells me so; in the
book of Revelations. 22: 13 I am Alpha and Omega,
the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
I believe we are right now this very moment, where
God wants us to be. Yes , we are right on schedule.
We are told in the scriptures That ď The steps of a good
man are ordered by the Lord; and he delighteth in his
way. Psalms 37: 23Ē
You are on time. So just hold on. Don't let go; hold on.
God did not bring you this far just to leave you.
Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Blood.
It's our faith that keeps us. It's our faith that sustains us.
It's faith that is the anchor keeping our feet firm
in Christ Jesus. Faith that comes from the Word of God.
Faith that we serve a risen Lord; one who is more than
enough. Faith that lets us know he will never leave nor
forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5)
Remember whose you are and Hold on by Faith.

Thought for the Week: Before you make a ďFrownĒ,
Look around and see if a Smile is not available.
Spoken by Joann to brighten your day.
Hey, we may not know what the future holds,
But we do know who holds the future. Itís
the King of Kings, the Lord of Lordís, the
Creator God, the one who made the heavens and
the earth. The God who spoke and said let there
be light and He alone is worthy to be praised.
Let every heart rejoice and every tongue give praise
for Jesus is alive and He will keep us in perfect
Peace if we keep our minds stayed on him.
Remember itís not about you, but about the one
Who died for all. Lift Him up in the morning,
Lift him up in the evening, lift him up, lift him up,
in the night time hours. This God we serve,
is a way maker and a deliver. He will keep us
no matter what, and he will bring us through
the trails of this life.
Just hold on to Godís unchanging Hand.

JESUS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
Special Reading: Luke 2: 1-4 ( The Christmas Story)
Sermon Scriptures: Isaiah 59: 21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the
Lord; my spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put
In thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth
Of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seedís seed, saith the lord, from
henceforth and forever.
Isaiah 60: 1-3 1) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the
Lord is risen upon thee.
2) For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the
People: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen
3) And the Nations shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy
John 8: 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of
The world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the
Light if life.
Darkness has a way of moving into our lives as if it is stronger, deeper
and more powerful than light. Thus, we tend to assume that light is
powerless and can not overcome darkness; nor command the strength
needed to lift us from its grasp. Because of this, darkness becomes all there is, a hopeless existence void of life.
This world represents darkness. Think about it: joblessness, economic downturn, anxiety which captures some, uncertainties of wars, homelessness, broken families, and domestic abuse. All these can represent levels of darkness. Awe, but Jesus came as a light in the world. Jesus came, Jesus came.
Oh, we fool ourselves. You and I. For the smallest candle does light up the darkness. Light brings clarity, visibility and aids in revealing the truth. But the realities of Godís presences are greater then the Hell that surrounds us. This time of the year we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Jesus is our light, we can see freely with the light that comes from our savior. Jesus came as the light of the world. Jesus came that none be lost.
Think about the light. When Jesus came his light brought hope so now we can see. The light of Christ brings peace, forgiveness, joy and freedom from despair. Jesus came with the light of compassion and arms wide open to provide what ever we need, when we need it. Jesus came to set us free from the spiritual darkness of the world.
The question comes, have you embraced the light that comes from Christ?
Have you made the choice to accept Jesus in your life? (John 3:16)
Without Jesus you are still walking in darkness. I encourage you to walk in the light that comes from Christ. We need his light so we donít stumble along lifeís journey. We need his light to live a life of peace and contentment. We need Jesus. Jesus asks that you believe. I challenge you embrace the light so you can say; Jesus is the light of my life.

A Thanksgiving Words
By Pastor Rachel Addison
Prayer: This is the day that the lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. Lord use me for your Glory. Open the minds of those assembled here, that they receive the Word and apply it day by day. Take charge Lord so that all that is said and done will be pleasing in your sight. Meet every need Lord, for you know each of us by name. Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart; be acceptable in thy sight, Oh Lord my strength and my redeemer. Amen.
Open your bibles to Psalm 100. Let us stand and read this together.
Enter his gates with Thanksgiving, (verse 4).
Iíll read this same Psalm 100 in the living Bible Translation.
Shout with Joy before the Lord, O earth! Obey Him gladly; come before Him, singing with joy. Try to realize what this means-The Lord is God! He made us-We are His People, the sheep of His pasture. Go through His open gates with great thanksgiving; enter His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and bless His holy name. For the Lord is always good. He is always loving and kind, and his faithfulness goes on and on to each succeeding generation.
Thanksgiving a time of Celebrate; a time of
Reflection; a time of remembering, a time of
I encourage you to develop a spirit of Thanksgiving. Think about it.
Read these selected verses.
Ephesians 5:20, lst Thess, 5:18, Col 3:17
Thanksgiving is a time of release, a time for letting go of the past, letting go of pain, letting go of disappointments and moving forward under a banner of Praise and Thanksgiving.
I call this a time of Freedom. Yes, embrace Freedom from the past and Freedom from the pain of past failures and past faults. Also there is Freedom from the hate of yesterdayís world.
One can receive Freedom from the guilt of whatís been done and what one failed to do. Oh, but God gives to us the Freedom to chose life not death; Freedom to chose Christ as the Lord of our lives. One has Freedom to live for Jesus and move into the family of God.
So where is your spirit of Thanksgiving? We are reminded to give Thanks no matter what.
Look around Iím sure you can find some thing to be thankful for. Hey, you woke up this morning?
Are you thankful you can walk, talk and drive your car? Why, can you feed yourself and move both arms?
Think about it? Thanksgiving, a time of Freedom.
Well, we can all be thankful, for Jesus. Jesus came that we could live eternally with him. Yes, he bled and died for you and me. Jesus came that we might have the Joy unspeakeable, with the assurance that heaven would be our home. He came that we could know that death and damnation; hell and its fury would have no claim on us.
We belong to Jesus, we belong to him. That spirit of Thanksgiving brings us into the presences of our loving Father; who hears us when we call. He waits for our cry and has given his word that he will hear us.
I encourage you embraced the Spirit of Thanksgiving! Do it now. Donít wait; tomorrow is not promised. Today could be the last day of your life as you know it.
Lift your voice in a Hallelujah cry for the Freedom You now feel. A joy that comes from walking on the Lords side. Joy in knowing with Christ Iím going because Heís my God, Heís my peace, and Heís my comfort in the midnight hours. Heís my friend when I feel friendless. Heís my mother and my father. Heís my sister and my brother. Heís my God on whom I can depend. He said in His Word he would never leave me nor forsake me. He is a God who can not lie. So I encourage you to lean and depend on Jesus.
Thanksgiving itís yours to have not someday but right now. This is your choice take it.

Weekly Sermon November 15, 2009
PASTOR RACHEL ADDISON
ISAIAH 41:13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, fear not; I will help thee.
PHILILPPIANS 4: 19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Prayer for the hour
My needs are met according to Godís riches in glory.
I receive daily the promises of God in my life. I believe in the Lord,
my savior Jesus Christ; who died and rose from the dead.
Heís alive in me. His spirit the anointing one, rest in me; teaching and guiding me each day.
Iím leaning on Jesus and walking where he will have me trod. He is a mighty God.
He is my fortress and my refuge. He is my strong tower.
He is my light in the darkest night. He is my God.
He is Jehovah Rapha. Heís my healer and the healer of my family.
There is none like him. Lord, Iím standing on your Word.
Iím leaning and depending on you.
This is your servantís prayer. Amen
Itís Time to Stand up for Jesus.
Scripture: 1 Corin 15:57-58 read these verses.
58-Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast,
unmovable, always abounding in the work of the lord, for as much
as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
TLB- So, my dear brothers, since future victory is sure, be strong and steady,
always abounding in the Lords work, for you know that nothing
you do for the Lord is ever wasted as it would be if there were no resurrection
Itís time to Stand up for Jesus
The World says if you donít stand for something you will fall for anything.
Itís time to embrace a value system, a belief, a standard that directs/ governs our behavior,
our thoughts, our way of living.
A standard that enables us to know right from wrong in all areas of our lives.
Itís Time to Stand. Itís Time to Stand up for Jesus.
First remember, this place is not our home. We did not come here to live forever.
One day we got to leave here. There is no free card given for death.
The Bible says it is appointed to men once to die. Young ,old, in between death will come
to all of us. So we need to learn to Stand up now, so when that final time comes
we will be ready. There won't be no surprises just sweet joy and happiness
because we know the end of the story and we'll walk in the gates of Glory.
Iím saying, Itís Time to Stand up for Jesus
There are somethingís you gain when you Stand up
I Call them the STP.
You know when you have car trouble you can go the Auto Stores like, auto zone, advance auto,
pep boys. They carry the STP brand name products. Any body hearing that name
knows those are quality products made for your car.
That were developed to keep your car in good running order. ďSTPĒ So Iím telling you
that some of the benefits available to you when you Stand up for Jesus are the STP.
Your donít want to be like the yo-yo, up and down, up and down not knowing where you are.
You donít want to be like the ping pong ball, going back and forth.
Youíll never arrive where God wants you to be if you donít get still and hear him.
God wants you to remain ďsteadfastĒ steady, strong and unmovable, like a rock fixed in him.
So embrace this standard, which is Godís Word:
S- stand for Salvation, saved, secure in Christ. (Keep the Word in you)
You got to have this first. You got to be saved.
This Standard is for the Children of God. No matter how good you are you canít claim
the standard of Salvation without Christ. No matter how good you are you canít get into heaven
without Jesus. My God, My God.
For Jesus stands in the gap between earth and Glory and that is the only way to reach Heaven.
You must go by way of Jesus Christ; goodness and money wonít get you there.
T- Trust- (Faith) , toughness, tenacity. You must believe the Word and allow
The Word to work in your life to change you to mold you, to make
Faiths come by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
Cell phone commercial, Can you hear me now?
Well if you are not of God you canít understand the things of God.
The Word has life Hebrew 4:12
P- Peace-Practice ( Protection)
There is an assurance you get when Christ is real in your life.
He said he would never leave you nor forsake you. So no matter what heís right there,
All the time. When you mess up heís there. When everything is going right hereís there.
Itís time to Stand up for Jesus. You have got to get the STP working in your life.
Pour it in and let the Holy Spirit begin to work in your life taking you to height you
never dreamed. Youhave to take that first step and then let God do the Rest,
Allow God to Be God. We canít change our selves but if we release the STP and let it
work in your lives. God can then move changing those habits and hidden sins that
hinder our ability to Stand.
When you Stand you are on your Spiritual Feet before God.
This is not a Physical position but a Spiritual position.
A position that has you focused before the Lord in Prayer. The Bible says Pray with ceasing that means you need to pray all the time.
When you get up in the morning, say good morning Lord, thank you for this day. As you wash your face, think in your mind, Iím blessed because Iím able to wash my own face; move my limbs, think, talk, see. As you go through out the day think, prayer; talk to the lord, tell him whats going on in your life. open your Bible, read some scriptures. Develop the habit of carrying a small testament with you to work, on break read some verses. Give your testimony to a co-worker letting them know what the Lord has done for you. Thatís allowing the STP to work in your life.
God will do in your life what you allow him to do. You donít want to stop drinking, God wonít make you. It will be your choice. But if you fall before God with a sincere desire in your heart, He will hear your cry and honor your request. But remember you still need the STP working in your Life.
You got to Pray, read the Word, Meditate on it
Fellow ship with other believers (PMA and F) Pray, Meditate, Apply and Fellowship
We are told in Psalm 119:11 Hide the Word in your Heart.
How can you hide it there if you have not read it. You have got to take that first step.
Mama, canít take it for you, Daddy canít, this is your walk and yours alone.
You have got to walk this road yourself. God stands ready to change you right now.
Heís never to busy to hear our cry,
We are the most important thing to him, he gave his only son for you and for me.
We are special to him.
I donít know your history. I donít know your pain,
I don't know your hopes, your dreams, nor your despair.
But I do know a man named Jesus. I know a man that will solve any problem, open any door, make a way out of no way, I know a man who can do any thing. His name is Jesus.
If you donít know him, I encourage you now to receive this man called Jesus,
Allow him to become the Lord of your life. It will be the best decision you ever make. Wonít you come?
What have you got to lose? Trust him to change you.
Trust him, just Trust him.
If you need prayer, something is going on in your life
You just need to bring it before the Lord. This is your time, right now, wonít you come.
Pastor Rachel Addison
Weekly Word 11-08-09
This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.
What a might God we serve, Yes God is good. He looks out for us even in the mess we sometimes find ourselves in. He said in his word, ďWithout me you can do nothingĒ John 15:5. Unless God extends his grace and mercy for us to move, to speak and to think, we would be like the statues, unmoving. Just a piece of dirt. So each morning when we wake up, be alert to thank God for another day. One more time to service him, one more time to get it right.
Read Psalm 3, let this be your weekly meditation. Be open to what God is saying to you; write it down. Let this be the start of your Spiritual Journal, if you have not started one already.
In this Psalm, David is sorrowful because his son, Absalom, has stolen the heart of the people and he desires his father's death, so he may be crowned King. Can you imagine your special child turning against you? David was expressing his sorrow in this Psalm.
We are living in times that are full of sorrow, mistrust, suffering, and circumstances we don't understand. It's in times like these, God asks us to trust him. Proverbs 3:5& 6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. But in all thy ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path. We are instructed to trust God whatever comes. Look at verse 3 (Psalm 3) ďBut thou, O lord, art a shield for me. My glory, and the lifter up of mine head.Ē David knows that God is in place as his protector, and will keep him from sorrow. God will lift his head in the midst of his anguish, giving him victory and restoring his dignity. God is still there no matter what the enemy brings, God is still in charge.
Note verse 5, ď I laid me down and slept; I awakened; for the Lord sustained me.Ē No matter what's going on around me, God allows me to sleep and comforts me in the midst of it all. To be sustained is to have all my needs met, to have the power of God busy keeping you, giving you peace. The dictionary defines sustain as giving support, whatever is needed that enables one to endure; whether military, food, shelter or strength. Whatever you need God's got it. Wow, no fear, no fear. It does not matter what man can do, God's got your back and he will deliver.
I began to think about myself and the medical concerns that have attacked my body, namely, arthritis. My walking and standing are limited and as a result, I've reduced some of my driving. Now, those who know me realize how on the go I normally am. So this is a real challenge for me. I am having a time adjusting to this ďnot doingĒ, but because I know God is still in charge of my life, I have this assurance that he's real in my soul. I can weather the storm, I can stand the test, I can smile in the midst of my struggle. I can shout my troubles over, I can pray in the power God has given me and thus stand, stand, stand.
I know my savior lives and I've come too far to turn back now. I'm holding on to God's unchanging hand. I know God is a healer and a deliverer. I know that he's my God. He may not come when I want him but he's an on time God. He will come in his time, he will heal in his time, he will deliver in his time. Revelation 22:13 Lets us know, God is the beginning and the end. He holds all power in his hand, be sure your shield is in place and thus you have that sustaining power only God can give.
God wants to be there for you and for me, that's why he sent his Son Jesus (John 3:16).
Jesus came to become what we need, when we need it. He came to stand in the gap for you and for me. Allow Jesus to be in your life. Open your heart and let him in. He will sustain you. He will guide you.
Let Jesus in, right now. Amen
Pastor Rachel Addison.
