The Pandemic Prayer

Pastor R. Addison

Praying when you don't know what to do. Praying when the way seems dark and gloomy. Praying when the doors seem to close right in front of us. Praying when you think God has forgotten you. Praying when you feel all is lost.

I come to remind you what the Bible said:

James 5:16 ..... The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.(NIV)

I come to tell you, Prayer makes a difference. God has allowed us to be where we are right now. All because He is God. He sends the rain on the just and the unjust. He is supreme, He reigns over us all. The song say's He's got the Whole World in his Hand's.

Hey remember the Prophets of old. See the Book of Exodus, where Moses was at the Red Sea. God opened the water and allowed the children of Israel to pass through on dry land.

Also check out the story of Joseph, who at age 17 was sold into slavery. Yet God in his mercy, elevated him to become the right hand of Pharaoh the leader of Egypt.

(Genesis37th chapter)

Look in the book of Daniel and see in chapter 6, where Daniel was put in the Lions den. He slept peaceful with the Lions. They were the cushions for his head; no harm came to him. Because God came and closed the Lions mouth. God protected Daniel. God was there.

We serve a God who is unchanging (Malachi3:6)And we know God will and does protect his children.

We may not understand the why of this Pandemic; but we have the assurance that this God we serve has our back. He said in his Word ;

I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.(Hebrews 13:5)

So I am holding on to God's unchanging hand.

Join Me, I challenge you as I pray this prayer:

PRAYER: Oh Lord my help and ages past. My help for years to come, my shelter from the stormy past and my eternal home. God of my Mother,God of my Grandmother, God of my Great Grand Father and my Great Great Grand Father. Oh God, for all those who have proclaimed your word down through the ages.

Lord we come on bended knee with humble hearts; seeking your wisdom and guidance in these troubling times.

People are dying all around us from this COVID-19. People have lost their jobs. They are lacking food and some lack shelter. The spread of this disease have our children caught in the middle as leaders search for how to return them to school. While families balance work with out Daycare and no open or limited schools.

Lord we need you and the wisdom that comes from above. Touch the hearts and minds of our leaders with Godly wisdom to do what's best for the people. Enable them to see we are responsible for each other. Lord I call on you to show up and show out. I call on you Lord, to strengthen your people as you said you would. Give us the mind to stand steadfast and unmovable in your Word. Open our eyes and our hearts to be receptive to you for you have instructed us to Love one another as you have loved us.

We need your direction now. In the Holy name of Jesus, I pray. This is your servants prayer. Amen.

Song: Praise him, praise him, praise him, praise, Jesus Blessed Savior, He's worthy to be praise. From the raising of the Sun to the going down of the same, he's worthy Jesus is worthy, He's worthy to be Praise.
